I am pleased to announce this upcoming Food Photography Workshop!

I was honored to sit in and observe (okay, shot a little) a photography workshop with Tim Clinch during my travels in Gascony.  WOW!  Tim Clinch!!  Tim along with Kate Hill have put together a fabulous 3 day Natural Light Food Photography workshop in Gascony, France.  Gascony is the perfect setting for shooting beautiful photos as it is but one of the many food centered regions of France.  Tim and Kate work amazingly together – Tim is hands on when teaching how to shoot beautiful and delicious food photography by using the natural resourses that are right in front of you, from sunlight to food.  Kate, opens up her home, Camont, as a shooting studio.  It is a treasure trove filled with amazing items for styling and shooting.  As well Kate is outstanding at cooking Gascon cuisine and styling the beautiful food you will be shooting.

The workshop will take place over the course of three days.  Each day will be hands on, from shooting to editing.  There will be morning shoots with editing sessions as well as afternoon sessions with more editing.  Tim will spend individual time with you explaining and showing you hands-on tricks and tips on how to really make your photos pop before behind the camera and during the editing process.  At the end of each day’s session you will have a better idea of how to show-case your photographers voice.

Students will work with their own cameras.  Basic materials for classes (food, etc) are provided as well as lunch daily. Workshops are 6 hours per day and begin with cool morning light at 9 a.m. and end at the golden hour 7 p.m. (including a 4-hour break for French lunch, rest, high noon sun). Food photography isn’t only about recipes and ingredients. They will take you to their favorite farmers markets in picturesque French village and towns, meeting (and photographing) some of the artisanal food producers.
