Studio Shooting
Bryan Alberstat will be teaching this introduction workshop on studio shooting. In this workshop you will learn to control and manipulate artificial lights. A review of all the essentials for lighting in the studio and then the next level of proficiency. Specific topics covered are: basic lighting tools (flash, hot lights, ambient light); how to control lights with umbrellas, soft boxes, reflectors, flags, etc.; the use of props and backgrounds; and composition and posing. How to “see light” and artistic self-expression in the studio.
Equipment: Digital SLR or Point and Shoot Camera
Experience: You will want to have a firm understanding of how to shoot a basic photograph
Topics that will be covered are:
- Balancing natural and artificial light
- Studio Lighting: continuous vs strobe
- Mono lights
- On camera/off camera flash
- Making inexpensive at home lighting
- Manipulating light
- Backgrounds and backdrops
- Setting up
- Shooting
